Integral well-being
As one of the first tourist centres in Alta Pusteria, Villabassa has always been of special interest, and deservedly so. Since the 17th century, holidaymakers from the Veneto have travelled to South Tyrol in search of a place of wellness, and very often to Villabassa, at 1,154 m above sea level. Its reputation as an important mountain health resort, however, dates back to the second half of the 19th century.
The creation of an adequate tourism infrastructure marked the advent of the noble classes of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy who fell in love with this little and pleasantly retro village. The aristocrats of Munich and Vienna immediately agreed: no other place was better suited to treat the body, spirit and soul than this charming place in a picturesque setting, with shady woods and meadows of flowers as far as the eye can see, and numerous baths and spectacular views of the peaks of the Dolomites.

The first "Kneipp für mich® Erlebnisdorf" village in Italy
The climate of Villabassa has undoubtedly remained salutary and especially suitable for a health and wellness break in South Tyrol ever since. Not for nothing can Villabassa boast the title of the first "Kneipp für mich® Erlebnisdorf" village in Italy. The concept, named after the parish priest and homoeopath Sebastian Kneipp, is based on the therapeutic properties of water. We invite you to discover the "Kneipp für mich®" park and to try out the wellness treatments for yourself. You will find, among other things, various baths, the barefoot route, the outdoor inhalation facility and the water pavilion, which is fed by the famous spa source of the nearby Baths of Maia.
